Indigenous-led from the beginning

Stoodis Fest is Indigenous-led and Indigenous-driven.
This isn’t simply a music festival featuring Indigenous performers. Indigenous leadership is fundamental to how Stoodis Fest is being built.
The Stoodis Fest Society’s guiding principles include Indigenous ways of knowing and being, Indigenous leadership and sovereignty, promoting Indigenous artists, developing capacity within Indigenous communities and Indigenous unity across First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples.

Putting Indigenous artists on epic stages

At its heart, Stoodis Fest is about the artists.
The festival creates opportunities for Indigenous musicians to perform, connect with audiences and industry, and receive the professional platforms and spotlight their talent deserves. That commitment comes directly from the Society’s founding purpose.
Stoodis Fest: The Launch will showcase 10+ Indigenous artists from Treaty 7 and beyond, spanning multiple genres and styles.

A music festival for everyone

Stoodis Fest is built so generations can experience live music together.
Stoodis Fest: The Launch is an all-ages, drug- and alcohol-free festival where families, youth, adults and Seniors can share the experience.
The ambition is to deliver the energy and impact people expect from a great live music festival while creating an environment where more people can participate. This distinction is explicit in both the festival deck and sponsorship materials.

Treaty 7 and Beyond

Stoodis Fest is rooted in Treaty 7 and creates a stage for Indigenous artists from Treaty 7 and Beyond.
Its roots matter. The long-term vision is to establish a nationally recognized Indigenous-led festival celebrating Treaty 7 music and culture while growing Calgary’s Indigenous cultural footprint and creating a place where Indigenous creativity thrives.
At the same time, Stoodis Fest can welcome artists and audiences from beyond Treaty 7.

September 19 is just the beginning

Stoodis Fest: The Launch is the first major public introduction to Stoodis Fest.
September 19 gives audiences their first taste of what Stoodis Fest can become: live music, Indigenous artists, culture, food, and community brought together in one festival experience.
And it’s deliberately the beginning of something bigger.
